After years of playing sports combined with age related arthritis it was time to take care of the pain resulting from torn and worn out meniscus once for all. The cortisone shots and gel injections were all temporary solutions with limited results. After researching the orthopedic surgeons in the area I decided to go with Doctor Cristin Mathew at All American Orthopedic & Sports Medicine. The entire process from the initial visit to the post-op visits was smooth. The supporting cast from the front office personnel to Dr. Mathew's assistants were all proficient and pleasant to deal with. Dr. Mathew, one of the few surgeons in the area specialized in using Mako robot assisted surgery, performed the surgery with amazing results. I am 73 years old and my expectations as I communicated to Dr. Mathew was to be able to perform not only the daily routine tasks but also participate in certain sports and exercises that mattered to me. My initial visit made me believe that I would be able to accomplish this. The surgery was performed with amazing results. I was able to walk within 2 hours of the surgery. After going through 6 weeks of rehab I was at 80% of full recovery and after 3 months I was able to go back to the gym and do many of the leg exercises toward a full recovery. I was able to go scuba diving, one of my favorite sports, after 4 months. At every post-op visit Dr. Mathew was supportive with additional instructions that made this surgery a wonderful experience. I am happy with the results and glad that Dr.
